Description of the attraction

One of the sights of the city of Svetlogorsk is the sculpture "Nymph". She, decorating the descent to the sea, is located on the Promenade of Svetlogorsk.

The author of this sculpture was the outstanding German sculptor Hermann Brachert. G. Brachert is the author of many amazing sculptures, reliefs and bas-reliefs located in the cities of East Prussia, an honorary member of the Stuttgart State Academy of Fine Arts.

The bronze sculpture "Nymph" was cast in Georgenswald (today - the village of Otradnoe), in the sculptor's workshop, which was located on the territory of the house where the sculptor lived with his family from 1933 to 1944. Herman Brachert's house is located in the village of Otradnoye, on the coast Baltic Sea. Seventeen-year-old K. Tsigan, married Porst, acted as a model for the sculpture.

During the Great Patriotic War, the sculpture was badly damaged, therefore, immediately after the end of the war, it was undergoing major restoration. Initially, the sculpture was located in a special niche, but then it was installed in a smalt shell. The beautiful colorful colored mosaic sink was made in the 1980s.

By the decree of the Government of the Kaliningrad region in March 2007, the sculpture "Nymph" of the city of Svetlogorsk was declared an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.
