In nature, there are many miracles from the series "Do not believe your eyes." It would seem that in the hot and white-hot Central Asia there is not and cannot be any sights associated with water. But experienced travelers go on hikes to the waterfalls of Uzbekistan and bring so many impressions and photos that you stop doubting the versatility and diversity of nature in any corner of the globe.
Tavaksai and its wonders
The small town of Tavaksay, 50 km northeast of the capital of Uzbekistan, is famous for its canyons and waterfalls. It is easy to get to them by train from Tashkent. The journey takes about an hour and a half. Then you should overcome 5 km on foot along the foothills of Karzhantau.
The large waterfall of Uzbekistan, located in the Tavaksay canyons, falls from a height of 40 meters and is a single stream, consisting of several shallow ledges. The best time to visit it is March and April, when the snow in the Tien Shan mountains begins to melt and fills the rivers with water.
Who seeks will always find
Some of the waterfalls in Uzbekistan are hidden from prying eyes in inaccessible places where rivers run down the mountain slopes:
The Zambat waterfall is located in the Zambat-say gorge in the middle reaches of the Koksu River. Its height is about 30 meters.
-
A large left tributary of the Aksakata River, the Koshkasu stream falls from a 20-meter height in a rocky valley. It is better to plan a visit to it in May or June, when the rivers become a little shallow. In order to reach the waterfall, you will have to wade them.
- 100 km from the capital, in the Bostanlyk region on the Kulasia river, the waterfall of the same name is rustling, the height of which, although small, is an impressive sight. Kulasya falls down in a powerful narrow stream in a stone gorge near the village of Burchmulla.
-
A walk to the 40-meter waterfall of Uzbekistan, which is called Paltau, will seem quite easy. It is easy to find it 7 km from the confluence of the Chatkal River into the Chavar reservoir, and you can get to it by a dirt road and a path to the village of Paltau.
- In the north-eastern part of the republic, on the left side of Lake Badak, from the path laid around it, a waterfall with a height of about 30 meters is clearly visible. It will be pleasant to swim in the lake itself already at the end of May, when the water warms up enough.
To visit the Chukuraksu waterfall, which locals consider the most beautiful in Uzbekistan, you will need permission from the authorities. It is located in the border area about four kilometers from the road connecting Charvak with Akbulak. It is best to plan your trip in June when the stream is especially full. The height of the waterfall formed by the Chatkal River is about 20 meters.
