No wonder this European capital received the nickname "golden", there is an abundance of tiled roofs burning in the sun, golden domes of churches, the sun reflected in the water. Walking around Prague is a series of architectural discoveries, tasty surprises, cute souvenirs and gifts. Any visitor to the Czech capital has an irresistible desire to return here to continue his journey through the city and through history.
Walking in medieval Prague
One of the largest cities in Europe was fortunate enough to preserve its historical appearance, therefore, getting into the center of Prague, the guest has the feeling that he is in a real medieval city, where cathedrals and bridges, cobbled streets and cozy courtyards.
There are more than 20 districts in the city, but only half of them are of the greatest interest to tourists. And, in general, the main attractions are "collected" in Prague-1 and Prague-2. The main travel routes are connected with the following interesting architectural and historical sites:
- Staro Mesto, of course, without translation, that this is a historical center, albeit not the oldest in Europe, but surprising at every step;
- Charles Bridge, decorated with a large number of sculptures and sculptural compositions, viewing which will take more than one hour;
- Prague Castle, formerly a royal residence, was considered the largest castle not only in Europe, but also in the world.
This is just a basic list of places to visit in Prague, each guest makes his own route to discover the amazing city.
Traveling through cultural Prague
To do this, you need to go to the area known as Prague-2. In terms of area, it is the smallest in the Czech capital; in terms of value, it is in no way inferior to Prague-1. The area is located on the other bank of the Vltava, the main attraction is Vysehrad, it was here that Princess Libuše, a legendary person for Czechs, announced that the city would become the center of world fame. And I was not mistaken, thousands of tourists arriving in the city every day are a vivid confirmation of this.
You can get acquainted with the history of Prague not only by walking through its huge squares and narrow streets. The main treasures of the capital and the country are kept in museums, which are huge in the city. The most important institution in this regard is the National Museum, while in Prague there are also many small, but very interesting museums introducing history, culture, ancient and modern art.
