The holiday season in Bulgaria lasts all year round - both beach and ski holidays are available in the country.
Peculiarities of holidays in Bulgarian resorts by seasons
- Spring: in early spring it is worth going to ski or spa resorts (they are famous for their mineral medicinal deposits). And in May, you can already start taking sunbathing (+ 23-24 degrees).
- Summer: at this time of the year there is practically no rain and the weather is wonderful (+ 28-35 degrees).
- Autumn: The fall months can be devoted to cycling and horseback riding, hiking and trips to national reserves, festivals and cultural events.
- Winter: As a rule, winter is characterized by frosts of 10-15 degrees. At ski resorts, it can be even colder (prices for winter outdoor activities are lower here than at well-known resorts in Western Europe). At your service are such resorts as Bansko, Pamporovo, Borovets (the duration of the ski season is mid-December - March).
Beach season in Bulgaria
You can relax on the Bulgarian beaches from mid-May to mid-September. At your service are such large beach resorts as Golden Sands, Burgas, Kranevo, Sunny Beach, Albena, Saints Constantine and Helena. The best Bulgarian beaches are Sunny Beach (clear water, natural sand dunes, entertainment programs), Dyuni Beach (calm beach holidays, surfing, yachting), Primorsko (family holidays with children). Blue flag beaches: Elenite, Albena, Pomorie, Gradina, Kavatsite.
An equally interesting vacation at beach resorts will await you in the off-season, because here you can undergo procedures based on seafood all year round.
Diving
The diving season in Bulgaria lasts throughout the summer. All major seaside resorts have dive clubs, not only provide diving lessons, but also organize underwater excursions, during which you can explore underwater caves and wrecks.
The best places for diving are the northern coast (Varna region) and the southern one (areas adjacent to Burgas). Here you will be able to swim side by side with outlandish sea animals, do underwater photography, go to underwater caves in search of treasures hidden at the bottom of the sea. No less popular places are the Pomorie resort (scuba diving, yachting) and Rusalka (picturesque seascapes, Yailata cave complex).
Rest in Bulgaria is not only a leisurely beach holiday, but also an active ski vacation. In addition, the country has excellent conditions for windsurfing, yachting, diving, water skiing.
