Beijing International Airport is known as the Shoudou Airport and is the largest airport in all of China. It ranks second in the world in terms of passenger traffic, providing flights connecting the country with all corners of the world. The airport is located just twenty kilometers from the center of Beijing.
A bit of history
The airport in Beijing was founded in 1958. It became the first airport in China. But at that time it was just a small terminal, which, by the way, has survived to this day. Later, in the 80s, a new building was built, which later also became "not enough" to provide the necessary tasks of the airport.
Transport infrastructure
Capital Airport is connected to the city by a metro line. It runs from Terminals 2 and 3 to Dongzhimen Station. The branch is high-speed, there are no stops on it, except for the final ones. Buses depart from the station square, carrying flights to almost all areas of Beijing, as well as to the neighboring city of Tianjin.
Baggage
The airport in Beijing is equipped with an expensive baggage handling system that accurately transfers belongings to the complex airport system. Passengers arriving at the airport will be able to collect their luggage within five minutes of arrival. The same system allows you to check in your baggage even the day before the flight or several hours.
Recreation
At the Beijing airport, the Winter Garden is located in the waiting room, reminiscent of the imperial gardens of the Summer Palace. In addition, there is also an underground garden located in a tunnel under the airport terminal so that passengers on the metro can admire it.

The airport in Beijing offers guests and passengers the widest choice of catering outlets, the so-called "world cuisine". Here you can taste dishes for every taste - from restaurant food to fast food, a wide variety of dishes from world cuisines and much more.
