Description of the attraction

At the corner of Leontievskaya and Magazeynaya streets in the city of Pushkin is the house of state councilor M. L. Stetkevich, erected in 1909 by the Petersburg architect Gustav Gustavovich von Goli, among the owners of which was the Tsarskoye Selo bourgeois F. I. Novikov.

The exterior of the building is in the Northern Art Nouveau style, which originated in the early 20th century in the Scandinavian countries and became widespread in St. Petersburg and its suburbs. The house is characterized by a free layout and developed volumetric plastic. The building stands out for its mushroom-shaped faceted bay window-tower, directed at the intersection of streets and crowned with a ribbed dome with a spire, a meander belt that connects the lancet windows. The design of the massive portal of the central entrance with a semicircular arch on supports made of rectangular and round stone blocks of different diameters is distinguished by its expressiveness. Plinth

faced with chipped granite (bream). For window sashes, small checkered devitrification is characteristic. The decorative balcony and tower are finished with a material imitating a shingle (shingle) coating. The embossed metal roof has a complex shape.

Today the building houses the Tsarskoye Selo collection museum. The museum was founded as a public gallery in February 1991 by the artist Alexander Mikhailovich Nekrasov (acting director). Since 1992, the museum has been a public museum, since 1996 - a municipal museum, and since 1999 - a state museum of regional subordination.

The Tsarskoye Selo Collection Museum consists of 6 exhibition halls with a total area of 420 sq.m. The artistic heritage of the 20th century is kept here: painting, sculpture, graphics, photographs. The total number of exhibits is 4000 items.

The permanent museum exposition is arranged in four halls, the base of which is the works of Leningrad artists of the 30s of the XX century, students and followers of Osip Abramovich Sidlin, Vladimir Vasilyevich Sterligov, Tatyana Nikolaevna Glebova, Grigory Yakovlevich Dlugach, Pavel Mikhailovich Kondratyev, representatives of the “Gazanev culture”. There are permanent exhibitions open in honor of the students and followers of Kazimir Severinovich Malevich (1999), artists of the circle of Alexander Dmitrievich Arefiev (2001). The museum has a department of contemporary art.

The museum has an educational "Painting Workshop" for adults and children, formed in 1988. Here are organized classes for people with intellectual and physical development.
