Description of the attraction
Stryisky Park is one of the oldest and most beautiful parks in Lviv. It was designed and built on the territory of the old Stryi cemetery by the famous architect Arnold Rohring at that time. Many historical events are associated with the park. This is how the Craiova exhibition was first organized here, in honor of which numerous pavilions were built. But the history of the park's development does not end there. In 1894, one of the first electric trams in Europe began to run to the park. And in 1930, transmitting towers were built, with the help of which the broadcasts of the first radio station in Lviv were broadcast.
In total, the park covers an area of 56 hectares, and is located in the Frankivsk district of the city. Up to 200 different plant species have been planted here; the special pride of dendrologists is the lime and plane tree alleys, and the rock garden. The park is home to such unique and exotic trees for our region as the Japanese lilac, tulip tree, two-bladed ginkgo and many others.
Today it is not only a favorite vacation spot for Lviv residents and guests of the city, but also a venue for numerous cultural events. So, for example, one day there were sofas in the middle of the alley, on which anyone could sit or lie down. And swans from plastic bottles constantly remind visitors of the problem of environmental pollution and that we must protect our heritage.
The park is beautiful at any time of the year. In the fall, he dresses in gorgeous crimson yellows. In winter, cheerful kids come here to play snowballs and go sledding. Well, in spring and summer, this is a favorite time for walking couples in love who enjoy the fresh air and aromas of the forest in the middle of the bustling city.
