Description of the attraction
The richest collection of the Museum of Fine Arts is based on the extensive collection of paintings by the Esterhazy family. The Museum presents works of art from ancient times to the present day.
The museum is divided into eight sections: Egyptian Art, Antiquity, Baroque Sculpture, Old Masters, Drawings and Engravings, 19th Century Masters, 20th Century Masters and Contemporary Sculpture. The greatest names are associated with the old masters - Tiepolo, Tintoretto, Veronese, Titian, Raphael, Van Dyck, Bruegel, Rembrandt, Rubens, Hals, Hogarth, Durer, Cranach, Holbein, Goya, Velasquez, El Greco and other painters whose works are posted in the museum. Among French painters of the 19th century, Delacroix, Corot and Manet are best represented. The museum often hosts temporary exhibitions.
