Description of the attraction
The Seoul History Museum is located in one of the northern districts of Seoul - Jongno-gu. The exposition of the museum will tell about how the city developed, from the prehistoric period to the present day. Since Seoul was the capital during the Joseon era, the museum's collection contains many relics from that era that were donated to the museum.
The History Museum was founded in 1985. In 2002, the museum was renovated and improved, and its collection expanded significantly.
The main exhibition halls of the museum are located on the third floor. In these rooms, guests can learn about the city of Seoul in the Joseon era, about the everyday life of city dwellers, cultural life, as well as about how this ancient city developed. The exposition of the museum will tell about the life of the royal families. Among the exhibits are the clothes of the townspeople of the Joseon era, household items, monetary units of that time and much more. The relics of the Joseon era are located in the hall on the first floor.
If you are tired, there is a cafe on the first floor where you can eat and a playroom for children. There is also a shop where you can buy souvenirs. In addition, on the ground floor, you can visit thematic exhibitions, which are organized not only by the museum, but also by other organizations or artists. The classrooms are located on the second floor. The museum has audio rooms and video rooms.
The entrance to the museum is free for all visitors. Only if there is a special exhibition in the museum is it necessary to purchase an entrance ticket.
