Description of the attraction
The State Museum of Nature and Ecology of the Republic of Belarus was opened in Minsk in February 1992. The museum is located at st. Karla Markva, no. 12. The total area of the museum's exposition is 450 square meters. m.
The museum funds are formed in four main areas: flora, zoology, geology, poster fund. The permanent exhibition is located in six halls of the museum and tells about the nature and biodiversity of the Belarusian wildlife.
The museum's exhibitions tell about minerals, the development of the organic world, aquatic and semi-aquatic plants, seasonal changes in nature, the behavior of birds in urban conditions, anomalous phenomena in the animal world associated with changes in the ecological situation.
The museum conducts a great deal of educational and explanatory work on nature conservation objects: reserves, parks, natural monuments. Adults and children are told how important it is to protect their native nature, how few rare animals and plants that are listed in the Red Book remain. Some animals, birds, fish and plants remained only as museum exhibits, which everyone can see in the Museum of Nature and Ecology of the Republic of Belarus.
The museum pays special attention to the younger generation. The museum conducts educational and educational lectures and excursions about the flora and fauna of the native land, about its minerals: "From a fairy tale to nature", "Who lives in the forest?", "On forest paths", "Through the pages of the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus", "Fauna and flora of reservoirs, swamps, coastal thickets", "Feathered neighbors on the planet", "Familiar strangers", "Minerals". Quizzes, contests, holidays are organized for children.
