Description of the attraction
Once on the site of Stradun Street there was a sea strait that divided the island of Ragusa from the mainland Slavic settlement. But then the townspeople cleverly decided to fill it up and pave it with marble slabs, and since then Stradun has remained the main shopping street of the old city.
Even now, when the Dalmatian language that once existed here has become extinct, locals sometimes call this street by its old name - Placa. This is a favorite walking place for city dwellers and guests of the city. There are many souvenir shops, boutiques and cafes here, and very narrow old side streets go to the sides.
On Stradun Street there is Onofrio's Small Fountain, created at the same time as the Great Fountain.
