Description of the attraction
The Museum of the History of Krasnaya Polyana was created in 1960 on the basis of the village secondary school No. 65 by the honorary citizen of Sochi B. Tskhomaria. The exhibits of the museum tell their visitors about the history of the village. There are several departments of the museum in five halls: labor and military glory, history and archeology, nature. In total, there are about 1800 items in the exposition.
In 1975, the school's museum received the status of a local history museum. In addition, in 1999-2002. he became the winner of the All-Russian review - a competition of museums of educational institutions, as well as the winner of the All-Russian review, which was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory in 2005. Museum materials have been repeatedly exhibited at the Central Museum of the Armed Forces.
The characteristic features of the Museum of the History of Krasnaya Polyana are the presence of genuine exhibits, their cognitive and scientific value, scientifically grounded and aesthetically competent placement of materials, the use of museum funds in teaching and educational work. Over the entire period of its existence, the museum has been visited by about a million people, including both local residents and guests of the resort. The guestbook contains autographs of the leaders of states, war veterans, famous cosmonauts, military leaders and members of many foreign delegations.
The Krasnaya Polyana Museum of History is a venue for meetings of World War II veterans who fought in the Caucasus, "Memory Watch" for soldiers who died in battles for their homeland, as well as military-patriotic conferences dedicated to the events of World War II. In the memorial hall, a mosaic flame winds on the wall, it symbolizes the Eternal Flame, against the background of which you can see metal plaques with the names of the fighters who went into battle and died brave death.
