To get to Mayrhofen, you should know the best options for traveling to this amazing place.

How to get to Mayrhofen from Russia

The fastest way to get to Mayrhofen from Russia is to fly to the airports located in Salzburg, Munich or Innsbruck. It is better to buy tickets to these cities in advance, since the demand for them is quite large almost all year round.

The following airlines fly from Moscow to Salzburg: S7; Turkish Airlines; Air Berlin; Eurowings; Brussels Airlines. Travel time depends on the number of connections, the type of aircraft and the length of waiting at the airports. All flights of the aforementioned carriers make connections in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Istanbul or Brussels. If you prefer this option, then be prepared to spend at the airports where flights are connecting, from 3 to 18 hours.

You can fly to Munich from the Russian capital using the services of Air Baltic or S7 airlines. The flight time of a direct flight is about 3 hours, and with a transfer in Riga, your journey will take from 5 to 22 hours.

Getting to Innsbruck is very problematic, but feasible. To this end, you must first be in Munich and from there follow another plane or train to Innsbruck.

Bus service from Russia is established only in the direction of Moscow-Munich. Buses leave from the Shchelkovo bus station, after which they arrive at the final destination in 28-37 hours. The cost of tickets varies from 6 to 9 thousand rubles.

To Mayrhofen from Munich

Once in Munich, you should think about your further route to the Austrian resort. There are several options: travel by train; taxi ride; a trip with a rented car.

Trains from Munich leave from the East Station (Bahnhof München Ost), where tourists usually come on their own. Next, you buy a ticket to Jenbach station, get on the train and in 1.5 hours you will be there. At the train station in Jenbach, you need to buy a train ticket with the Zillertalbahn sign and continue on it to Mayrhofen. The cost of tickets is democratic and is no more than 7 euros.

It is worth considering that trains to Jenbach do not run as often as we would like. An alternative option is to buy a ticket to Rosenheim station, and from there go to Jenbach.

A ride in a rented car or taxi will allow you to appreciate the beauty of the local landscape. This type of transport is worth trying for those who are willing to pay an amount of 200-300 euros. Car booking takes place on the official websites of companies offering services of this kind. The journey takes about 2-2.5 hours.

To Mayrhofen from Innsbruck

Innsbruck is the nearest settlement to the famous spa area. Bus number 8330 runs daily between Innsbruck and Mayrhofen, tickets for which should be booked in advance on the official website of the carrier. Sitting on a spacious bus, you will spend only 2 hours on the road.

Traveling by train requires some patience as you will need multiple trains. Trains run from Innsbruck Train Station to Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. Your goal is to take any of these trains and get to Jenbach station, and from there get to Mayrhofen in any convenient way (train, taxi).

You will need winter tires to travel with your rented car. Also, do not forget to purchase a special “vignette” sticker at any gas station, which will be evidence of your payment for some Austrian motorways. In the absence of such a sticker, you will have to pay a fine of 110 euros.

Separately, it should be noted that public transport in Mayrhofen ends after 5-6 pm. Therefore, carefully think over your route in advance so that in the future you can get to the hotel without delay.
