Far exotic islands, according to many, are just a real paradise, it is very difficult to get to it, but you just don't want to leave. And when the next holiday season comes, the question arises again - Mauritius or Maldives?
Tiny Mauritius is a popular destination, albeit quite expensive, mainly due to the long flight. But it offers typical "paradise" beaches, the organization of a real honeymoon and a stunning underwater world that attracts fans of deep-sea diving from all over the planet. The Maldives is also on the list of high-priced pleasures with its range of exotic entertainment, honeymooning is also on the list of popular services.
Mauritius or Maldives - where is the more favorable climate?
The island of Mauritius will delight (or upset) a tropical maritime climate, which is characterized by high humidity, in the summer months it reaches 80%. This weather is not well tolerated by children and adults with cardiovascular problems. Interestingly, the most popular tourist months - June and July - on this island, on the contrary, are completely uncomfortable. Although the temperature is favorable, strong winds are frequent, which greatly complicate the life of visitors.
The climate in the Maldives, just like in Mauritius, is tropical, characterized by high humidity and high temperatures. Monsoons are present, but not strongly felt, since the islands are located close to the equator. Guests going to the Maldives in the summer should prepare for the frequent, heavy rains, since they pass quickly and everything dries up instantly under the hot sun.
Exotic beaches
Mauritius is proud of its beaches - sandy, very clean, which the local authorities try to keep in perfect condition. True, when entering the sea, you can injure your feet on corals, so it is recommended to swim in rubber slippers. It is also important to remember about the bright, scorching sun and use protective equipment in time.
Since the Maldives is a network of islands, guests have the opportunity to relax almost everyone on their own beach. In general, exotic paradise pictures appear in the eyes of tourists - shores covered with golden sand, azure waves rolling one after another onto the shore, malachite green of palm trees and other tropical plants.
Hotels and accommodation for guests
Tourists going to Mauritius need to remember that there is no European stardom classification. There are three categories of hotels - Superior, Deluxe, Super Deluxe. In general, the places for tourists are high, even in bungalows, the conditions are very comfortable. Visitors to the island choose bungalows located right on the beaches, hotel rooms or entire villas, allowing them to spend time in privacy, apart from their neighbors.
Unlike Mauritius, the Maldives is a multitude of islets, each of them usually has one small hotel, so guests feel relatively secluded. Another interesting way of living in the Maldives is renting a yacht, the cost of rest, however, is quite high, but every day new beautiful landscapes are provided, different activities - diving, swimming, fishing.
Most of the hotels correspond to the level of 4-5 * hotels; accommodation options in bungalows located right on the water are popular. These options have their pros and cons. Advantages - secluded relaxation, soporific rustle of waves, no need to waste time to get to the beach. Disadvantages - ebb, when the bungalow is too high above the water and the same lapping of waves, which over time begins to annoy anyone. And, of course, storms that can tickle the nerves of tourists.
Shopping
Guests do not come to Mauritius for shopping, although there is a category of goods that are much cheaper than in European stores, this is jewelry. Most often, guests buy local souvenirs; in the list of gifts taken home, you can find the following:
- "Chamarel", multi-colored sand, stacked in layers in beautiful glass bottles;
- models of sailboats, skillfully carved from wood;
- textiles, cashmere products.
Food souvenirs are also popular, with cane sugar and local rum being the main spots. Exotic souvenirs are brought from Maldivian resorts - lacquered black boxes, wicker mats, coconut milk, models of fishing boats.
Comparison of individual positions of tourist rest (the most important) shows that these exotic islands are fully prepared to receive the most capricious guests from the mainland. At the same time, the rest is still different, because the island of Mauritius will be chosen by travelers who:
- dream of exotic;
- love gorgeous sandy beaches;
- adore jewelry, cashmere and sailboat models as souvenirs for their relatives.
The beautiful Maldives will become a holiday destination for tourists who:
- want a secluded getaway;
- dream of bringing shark jaws and boat models;
- love diving and fishing.
