In a dispute over the most beautiful cities in the world, there can be no winners or losers. Beauty is a very subjective concept, and therefore each city may be liked by one and not impress others at all. Many reputable sources try to compile ratings, but their results rarely coincide completely and unconditionally. And yet there are cities on the planet that are liked by the absolute majority of travelers. They are located on different continents and it is from them that any tourist prefers to start exploring a new country.
Metropolitan things
Among the capitals of the world, there are several unconditional leaders of any beauty contest:
- Paris. Ideal for romantic getaways and shopping, the city is stunning with its classic pictures, while views of Notre Dame or a walk in the Tuileries Gardens are equally inspiring poetry declarations of love.
- Budapest. The impression from the seen openwork-marshmallow outlines of the parliament building, reflected in the Danube waters, cannot overshadow even the pleasant aftertaste of real Tokaj.
- Prague. The Vltava, with its many bridges, and its embankments are especially beautiful in the golden autumn season. It is quite simple to avoid the crowd of other suffering people to see the most beautiful city in the world: you just have to get up early in the morning.
- Rome. The capital of Italy has earned the epithet Eternal City by right. You want to come back here again and again, because every stone here breathes history, and the beauty of the Roman fountains is not and will not be equal at all times.
- Beijing. The Forbidden City and the world's largest square are still exotic oriental and impress tourists with their scale and ideal proportions at the same time.
In the southern hemisphere
Cape Town is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The sight of a cloud gathering to spend the night on the top of Table Mountain, a gorgeous ocean panorama from the Cape of Good Hope, are good reasons to fly across half the world and get to know South Africa.
Australian Sydney is famous for its opera house, which set sail in the local harbor and the Harbor Bridge, which is called the city's trademark. On the lawn on the shores of Sydney Bay, thousands of people gather to watch the famous New Year's fireworks.
You can talk about Rio de Janeiro for hours. Its golden beaches, bay and Christ the Redeemer statue hovering over the city are the perfect backdrop for the annual Brazilian carnival.
