Taxis in Paris are represented by more than 17,000 cars: their stands (sign with white letters TAXIS on a blue background) can be found at metro stations, at railway stations, at main intersections and at major attractions, for example, at the Eiffel Tower or on the Champs Elysees …

Features of ordering a taxi in Paris

Anyone who is going to order a taxi by phone may need the following numbers: + 44-7005-805-355 (the drivers know Russian); 33 (0) 1-47-39-47-39.

If you need a taxi that will take you to the airport, order it in advance by contacting the hotel administrator for help or by negotiating with one of the drivers at the taxi rank.

You can also stop a taxi on the street, but keep in mind that if the nearest taxi stand is about 50 m away, the driver will not stop the car to pick up a passenger.

As a rule, drivers take no more than 3 passengers, since it is not customary to sit next to the driver. But if the driver takes 4 passengers, then in addition, you will need to pay about 3 euros for him.

Tourists should pay attention to the fact that if a white light is on under the sign of a taxi, it means that you can use its services, and if an orange light is on, it means that the taxi is busy. If you see a flashlight covered with a cover, it means that the driver is not currently engaged in customer service.

Advice: it is advisable to resort to the services of official taxis, and not private drivers, since the latter can ask for twice as much money for a ride.

Taxi cost in Paris

Have no idea how much a taxi costs in Paris? Focus on the current tariff scale:

  • Tariff A (you can determine it by a lit white light): 1 km of the route will cost 0, 99 euros;
  • Tariff B (orange light is on): each km traveled costs 1, 2 euros;
  • Tariff C (blue light is on): the cost of 1 km of the way is 1, 45 euros.

There is also tariff D (the light is green), but since it is valid for trips to the suburbs, there is no fixed fare (it is advisable to negotiate the price before the trip).

Boarding costs from 3.5 euros, with the minimum fare being 6, 6 euros, and the cost of a call (if you order by phone) - 2.4 euros.

It is worth considering that for the carriage of baggage weighing 5 kg or more, there is an additional charge - it is 1 euro.

It should be noted that due to low-speed traffic and forced downtime, there is an hourly rate: tariff A - 30 euros, tariff B - 34 euros, tariff C – 32 euros.

Some taxi companies provide customers with the opportunity to pay for travel with a credit card (this should be clarified during the ordering process) - in this case, at the end of the trip, you must receive a check from the driver.

It is very convenient to travel by taxi in Paris, especially since after midnight a taxi is the only transport that can be used.
