You can talk about the Czech capital for hours: medieval architectural masterpieces and cozy restaurants, dozens of bridges of impossible beauty surrounding the Vltava and breathtaking cuisine, nice people and an atmosphere of fabulousness and unreality of what is happening … And almost half of the area of this city is green spaces. Perhaps that is why the best season in Prague, in the opinion of the absolute majority, is golden autumn.
About weather and nature
Located in a zone of temperate continental climate, Prague boasts even and pleasant weather throughout the year. Winter is mild here, little snow falls, and the air temperature is kept within the range of 0 - +2 degrees. However, Prague residents can remember winters, when Christmas trees were burning with lights at +17, and St. Mikulas - the local Santa - did not feel well in a traditional fur coat.
Spring in Prague is a blooming garden and a delicate aroma of jasmine and chestnuts, magnificent views from the observation deck of the TV tower and a warm wind over the Vltava. By the first days of April, thermometers reach +14 degrees, allowing you to walk around museums, squares and, of course, drinking establishments without the slightest fatigue. The rainy season in Prague begins in May, when the city has the highest rainfall.
However, summer in the capital of the Czech Republic is always a rainy season. Warm and short thunderstorms are frequent here and bring pleasant coolness to the city streets. Temperature values during this period can reach a record +30 degrees for Prague, but mostly the thermometers freeze in July-August at the standard +26.
Autumn in Prague
It is in September that the most charming time comes to the Czech capital - the Prague autumn. Parks and squares acquire the same famous shades of crimson and gold, which are sung by poets and preferred by photographers. In the autumn season, the vast majority of tourists are recorded in Prague. The air temperature at this time is kept at a comfortable level of +16 - +18 degrees, rains are the exception rather than the rule, and therefore the schedule of planned walking tours and walks around the city is strictly observed.
Festivals and fairs
For beer lovers, the best season in Prague is the end of May, when the city hosts the participants of the Prague Beer Festival. Shopaholics prefer to come to the Czech Republic on the eve of Christmas in order to get to the best sales in the local shopping centers. Lovers strive to kiss on the Charles Bridge on Valentine's Day in order to find happiness for the rest of their lives.
