The holiday season in Egypt is all year round, but the best months to visit the country are May, October and November.
If you are one of those who are interested in more or less inexpensive tours, then it is advisable to purchase tours to Egypt in December (from 1-20), January (from 10-20), June (from 20-30). As for the New Year, May and November holidays, during these periods the prices for vouchers increase significantly.
Tourist season in Egypt
- Spring-autumn: it is more comfortable to rest in the country in April-May and September-November, when there is no scorching heat. This period is ideal for sightseeing holidays.
- Winter: this is an excellent time for high-quality and inexpensive rest (air temperature - + 25-28 degrees), with the exception of New Year's holidays (the cost of tours is increasing). The resorts on the Red Sea will delight you with sun, excursions and water activities, while the winds rage on the Mediterranean coast during the winter months.
- Summer: despite the heat, vacationing in the country is quite comfortable because of the light breeze, warm sea and good air conditioning in hotels. During this period, you can relax on the beaches and engage in water sports.
Beach season in Egypt
In Egyptian resorts, you can relax in any season, because even winter can boast of warm water (in the Red Sea it is never colder than + 20-21 degrees). But if you go to resorts located on the Mediterranean Sea, for example, off the coast of Alexandria, it is worth considering that here the optimal period for swimming is late spring - early autumn.
Egyptian beaches are subdivided into sandy and coral. So, for example, you should know that the beaches of Sharm El Sheikh are mostly coral, i.e. it is better to swim here by wearing special shoes. And you can find good sandy beaches in the old part of Hurghada. Where you certainly do not have to worry about swimming without the risk of injury, it is in Taba and Nuweiba (here are the best beaches with excellent fine sand).
Diving
The duration of the diving season in Egypt is November-March.
For the best diving, it is advisable to go to the south of the Red Sea - here you will come across coral gardens, colorful marine life, turtles and even sharks. At the Makadi Bay resort (there are 4 diving centers), you will find a rich underwater world with untouched coral reefs, in Safaga - colorful tropical fish and sunken ships, and in Dahab - a rich underwater world and coral caves with 100-meter sheer walls.
Kitesurfing
For kitesurfing, it is advisable to choose places such as Safaga, Dahab, Soma Bay, Marsa Alam, Magawish. As for the season, you can practice kitesurfing in November-February, April-May.
