By plane to Cairo
The cost of a flight from Moscow to Cairo varies from 10 to 23 thousand rubles. The most expensive flight lasts only 4 hours and 20 minutes. This is a direct flight operated by Egyptair from Moscow Domodedovo Airport. Planes leave every other day in the afternoon. Departure is scheduled for 16:15. Travelers will arrive in Cairo at 19:35.
You can significantly save on tickets if you fly to Cairo with one or two changes. This route is offered by different companies. For example, the transport company "Aegean" delivers tourists from Domodedovo to Cairo with a stop in Istanbul at least 12 hours in advance. A very long flight (36 hours and more) was developed by the carriers Pobeda and Aegean. In this case, you will have to fly through Istanbul and Athens. There are also flights with three connections, but they are not very convenient.
It will not be possible to get from the St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport to Cairo without connections. The minimum time that tourists will have to spend on the road to Cairo is 7 hours 50 minutes. This flight via Munich was developed by Lufthansa. The cost of tickets for the flight is more than 70 thousand rubles. There is a flight that will cost almost three times less. - by plane to get from Moscow to Amman. Direct flights from Domodedovo to the capital of Jordan are offered by the Royal Jordanian airline. On the way, travelers spend only 4 hours and 30 minutes. The fare is from 24 thousand rubles. You can save money and fly to Amman for 5 thousand rubles and 13 hours. The plane takes off from Vnukovo and makes two stops - in Eindhoven and Warsaw. This is a joint flight of two companies - Pobeda and Ryanair. In Amman, you can stay for a few days, and then fly to Cairo directly. Such flights from Amman are offered by two companies - EgyptAir and Royal Jordanian. In an hour and a half, tourists will be in Cairo;
- in the same way, you can fly without connecting from Moscow to Istanbul for at least 3000 rubles. Direct flights are offered by Pobeda, Onur Air, Pegasus Airlines. Departures are carried out from Zhukovsky, Vnukovo, Domodedovo. Passengers spend at least 3 hours 5 minutes on the way. From Istanbul to Cairo in 2 hours 10 minutes, the aircraft of the companies "Nile Air", "EgyptAir", "Turkish Airlines" are delivered;
- if you have a Schengen visa, you can fly from Moscow to Athens. A direct flight takes from 3 hours 10 minutes, a ticket for it will cost 4600 rubles. Aeroflot's planes fly from Sheremetyevo to Athens, Aegean and S7 Airlines fly from Domodedovo. From Athens to Cairo, the plane takes 1 hour and 50 minutes. The cost of the flight is from 9500 rubles;
- the route to Cairo can also pass through Israel. A ticket from Moscow to Tel Aviv costs about 8,000 rubles. Tourists spend 4 hours on the way. Such a flight is offered by Ural Airlines, El Al Israel Airlines. From Tel Aviv in 6 hours with a connection in Athens, you can get to Cairo. The fare is 10,000 rubles.

How to get to Cairo from the airport
Cairo Airport is located 21 km from the historical center of the city, which can be reached using different transport:
- if you do not know the city, it is easier to use the services of taxi drivers. Some old-style taxis are not equipped with meters, so first you need to negotiate the fare with the driver. The car will go to the city center for about an hour;
- Shuttle buses are popular with passengers, which run every half an hour. They deliver tourists to different parts of the city. Payment is made depending on the distance of the trip;
- the regular bus stops in front of the first terminal. Its final stop is a few steps from the Egyptian Museum.
